Jimmy Dean Thomas, 67 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on May 23, 2026.
Jimmy was born on January 22, 1959 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jimmy married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Rhonda Fay Curtis, on July 21, 1977. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, family, and countless adventures, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Army. A skilled welder by trade, he founded Maverick Trailers in 1985 before later opening his own carpet business, Thomas Floor Coverings, which he owned and operated for four years. His most recent position with Ambrose Companies meant the world to him because of the people he worked alongside and the strong sense of family they shared.
Jimmy embraced life through its simplest and most meaningful joys — spending time with those he loved, watching sports, and playing cards with family and friends. He devoted his life to the people he cared for most, and his laughter, kindness, and loving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Hamilton (Bob); his father, Gerald Thomas (Rita); his brothers, Jerry, Eddie, and Wesley; and his sister, Deany Cowgill.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda; his children, Matasha Gonzales, Michael Thomas (Monica), and Matthew Thomas (Kim); his grandchildren, Dominick Thomas (Shilah), Kaitlyn Thomas (Seth), Stacy Woodard (Gage), Dustin LeRosen (Mariah), and Briona Thomas; and his great-grandchildren, Kingston, Isabella, Josiah, Jade, Georgia, Stetson, Archer, Shepherd, Ethan, Emmitt, and Charleigh. He is also survived by his brother, Robby Hamilton (Lisa), and his sister, Catherine Henderson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 4:00pm at: Park Hill Baptist Church 7609 N MO-9 Kansas City, MO 64152
