Nedra Ann Moffitt, Age: 92

Aug 13, 1933 - Jun 06, 2026

Nedra Ann (Huttenlocker) Moffitt passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born on August 13, 1933, in Jackson, Michigan, and graduated from Parma High School. Following her education, she worked briefly doing secretarial work before dedicating herself to raising her family.

Nedra shared 65 years of marriage with her beloved husband, David A. Moffitt, before his passing in 2017. Together they built a loving home and family, creating countless memories that will be treasured by those who knew and loved them.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Nedra found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved baking for family and friends, reading, collecting antiques, and listening to classical music. An avid list maker, she was known for her exceptional organization, attention to detail, and ability to keep family life running smoothly. Her thoughtful nature, quiet determination, and caring spirit were hallmarks of her character.

In 2017, Nedra and David moved together to a retirement community in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where they began a new chapter of life.  Following David’s passing later that year, Nedra remained there, developing many cherished friendships and becoming a beloved member of the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Moffitt and parents Louis and Marcille Huttenlocker.

She is survived by her children, Terri (Richard) Widerstedt, Tim (Ellen Cunningham) Moffitt, Scott (Mechelle Scott) Moffitt, and Laura (Mike Crane) Moffitt; grandchildren Jenna (Eli) Greening, Ryan Moffitt, and Katy Moffitt; great-grandchildren Emma Greening and Will Greening; sister Mary (Bill) Horne; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nedra will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her kindness, her sharp mind, and the grace with which she lived her life. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the many lives she touched.

In accordance with Nedra's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Family and friends will gather for a small reception celebrating her life at the retirement community she called home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PBS/KCPT Public Television, whose programming brought Nedra many hours of enjoyment over the years.
