December 25, 1946-June 24, 2026
Rebecca “Becky” Anne Lindgren-Baker, born December 25, 1946, in Salina, Kansas, lived a life defined by love, service and devotion to family and friends.
Becky spent her working years in administrative and project management roles within the construction industry, where she excelled in accounting, personnel management and exceptional problem-solving abilities. Her strong work ethic, expertise, and attention to detail earned her the respect of colleagues throughout her career.
Outside of work, Becky embraced life with creativity and passion. She was a phenomenal cook whose meals brought people together, a gifted gardener with a true green thumb, and an avid reader who appreciated art, music, and beautiful surroundings. She loved estate sales and had a special talent for finding treasures and creating welcoming spaces. Becky also adored cats and rarely went without the companionship of at least one beloved feline friend.
In retirement, Becky found great joy spending time in Colorado with her sister and family. She loved visiting the Knotty Pine General Store & Ice Cream Shop, a favorite destination since she was a young girl and spending time at the family cabin in Grand Lake, strolling through local shops and taking in the scenic beauty she cherished so deeply.
One of the most meaningful chapters of Becky’s life was her involvement at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. A devoted member of the parish, she faithfully served on the Altar Guild and volunteered countless hours on various event committees. In 2023, Becky received a Certificate of Completion from The University of the South, School of Theology, for completing the Education for Ministry program, an extensive three-year course of theological study. Her family and friends were immensely proud of this accomplishment. Becky found profound fulfillment through her faith and church community, and often spoke of the friendships and purpose she discovered there. St. Paul’s and its parish became a deep source of healing, belonging, and grace in her life.
Becky is survived by her daughter, Dana Baker; her grandson, Maksim “Max” Barbar; her sister, Sara Lindgren Norton, and brother-in-law, Russ Norton; her niece, Kaelyn Norton-McCluskey, husband Sean McCluskey, and great-nephew Forrest McCluskey; her niece, Maddie Norton; her brother, Fred Lindgren, and sister-in-law, Cindy Lindgren; her nephew Kyle Lindgren; her niece Lindsey Lindgren; her great-niece Sophie Lindgren; and, through her former marriage to Roy Baker, and niece, Tammie White.
She was preceded in death by her former sister-in-law, Patti Jo Forsyth, whom she had remained close to through the years.
Becky’s family is deeply grateful for the friendship, care, and kindness of longtime family friend, Janet Rickel, and dear friends, Ed Schultz and Beth Herbers, whose steadfast support and companionship enriched her life. They also extend heartfelt thanks to her wonderful neighbors, Kendra and Chuck Bailey and Kimo Hood, for their friendship and watchful care through the years.
Those who knew Becky will remember her unwavering loyalty, kindness, and generous spirit. She never forgot a birthday, was always ready to lend a helping hand, and had a special way of making others feel seen, remembered, and valued. Her love, wisdom, and caring heart touched countless lives, and her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 25 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 11 E. 40th St., Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers and at Becky’s request, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Food Pantry at
