Vicky was born in Liberty, MO, on September 6, 1951. She arrived at the home of her parents, William Wilson Stafford and JoAnn (Conner) Stafford. Vicky was a very impatient and stubborn child. Even as an infant, she couldn't wait for the doctor to get to the house before making her appearance into the world. The impatience changed as she got older, but the stubbornness did not.
In 1967, the family moved to Nevada, MO, where Vicky attended and graduated from Nevada Senior High School with the Class of 1969. It was one of the happiest days of her life because she disliked school more than anything else. There was definitely no college in her future.
Vicky's love for the church and her Heavenly Father was formed at Gashland Baptist Church, where she was baptized and accepted the Lord.
After graduation, Vicky went to work at Krause and Co., learning about beer brewing and shipping supplies all over the world. Almost all the rest of her working career was spent as a cook in care facilities in the Nevada and Kansas City, MO, areas. She enjoyed getting to know the people she cooked for and hearing their personal stories.
Vicky's hobbies included jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and playing games on her tablet and computer. She also enjoyed cross-stitch, diamond art painting, and various other crafts.
Vicky's favorite thing to do was spending time with family and friends. She loved reminiscing about family stories that shouldn't be forgotten. If you ever wanted to play cards or games, just call Vicky. She would be the first one there. She also enjoyed road trips. It didn't matter where you were going or who went along. You might just have to remind her you were in the car, or she wouldn't stop to give you any breaks.
The monthly luncheon with the "Bingo Family" was especially meaningful to her. Vicky enjoyed having lunch, playing cards, and then spending the evening playing bingo with her very, very special friends at the Disabled American Veterans in Independence, MO. She'll be looking down on us and adding extra points to your score if you break the rules.
Vicky is survived by her brother, William Stafford (Lois) of Kearney; her brother, Steve Stafford (Frankie) of Nevada; her brother, Bruce Stafford (Becky) of King City; her sister, Cathy Stafford of Kansas City; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends.
Vicky was preceded in death by her father, William Wilson Stafford; her mother, JoAnn Stafford; her grandparents, Robert Stafford, Melvina Stafford, Raymond Conner, and Naomi Clopp; her sister, Dianna Parker; her brother, Rick Stafford; and other extended family members and friends.
No services are planned at this time. Vicky will be laid to rest in a private burial at Newton Burial Park Cemetery in Nevada, MO, at a later date.
