Anthony Lowell Pack

February 2, 1961-July 14, 2026

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Anthony Lowell Pack, age 65, after a 7 year difficult journey with Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinsonism and Alzheimer's. He passed at Saint Luke’s Hospice House on July 14th, 2026.

Anthony was born February 2, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky to Sandra Jean Hedges. She selected Lowell and Joy Pack to be his adopted parents. Anthony had a wonderful childhood living in Ohio, New York, Chicago, and finally settling in Kansas City. He attended Blue Valley High School where he excelled in music and art. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a BFA in illustration.

After several years of freelancing and 10 years working for Hallmark Cards, he built a 20 year career as a mixed media artist. Anthony travelled extensively throughout the US selling his work at juried art shows. His work was also sold at numerous galleries, most notably at Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery in Florida, the Folk Art Museum of New York, and the Kemper Museum in Kansas City. He was a beloved and recognized artist winning many awards for his work.

Anthony met his wife at Julie Carmichael’s famous Christmas Party and married in 1999. they were married 25 years. His greatest “creations” were their two children, Hayden and Harper. Anthony was a big lover of animals, especially cats. He leaves behind Atticus, Oliver, his favorite nap buddy, Finn, and Blinky the stray.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lowell and Joy Pack of Leawood, Kansas and birth father Thomas S. Tewell of Louisville, Kentucky, 1 half sister and 1 half brother.

Anthony leaves behind wife, Sarah Holley Pack of the home, a son, Hayden Aston Pack, a daughter, Harper Christine Pack, birth mother Sandy Hedges Maxwell, 2 half sisters and 2 half brothers, and a huge extended family, as well as many beloved friends.

The family would like to thank all the medical professionals who cared for Anthony, especially Saint Luke's In Home Hospice, St. Luke’s Hospice House, as well as all of our friends who supported us these last 4 months.

Anthony had a huge heart for the world and people. He saw the beauty in simple parts of nature. Anthony loved taking his daughter to concerts, watching movies with his son, and making his wife laugh. He was able to find humor in every moment. He was happiest when he was with friends and family, making art, and above all else, listening to music.

According to Anthony’s wishes, there will be no formal service, however a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
