Beverly Jeanette (Lemken) Rheuport, age 81, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home on July 13, 2026.

Born on March 14, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Dorothy and Carl Houser, Beverly was the second oldest of her siblings. At the age of 12, she was lovingly adopted by her stepfather, James Lemken. Raised in Kansas City, she graduated from East High School. A talented seamstress, she made many of her own clothes and took on significant responsibilities at home, helping her mother with chores and caring for her younger siblings. Her independence and drive were evident when she purchased a butter-yellow Mustang – a car she cherished and maintained with pride. Those formative years forged her into the dependable, kind, and resilient woman she would remain throughout her life.

Beverly built a full life defined by hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication. As a single mother, she raised five children while working diligently at AT&T, Colgate-Palmolive, and Meadowbrook Country Club. She balanced demanding jobs with motherhood, always putting her family first and creating a stable, loving home. Generous to a fault, she would give her last penny to anyone in need- often going without herself- and did so with humility and grace.  

She possessed a natural curiosity for life and a genuine interest in others. Beverly took great pride in her children’s education and created cherished family memories through yearly vacations filled with camping and beach trips. She loved books, music, movies, and especially holidays spent with family. Through life’s many obstacles, she faced challenges with remarkable determination and perseverance, serving as a calm, wise anchor for her loved ones in moments of crisis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and James Lemken, and Carl Houser; her brothers Richard Lemken, David Lemken, and Jeffrey Lemken; and her sister Kimberly Johnson. She is survived by her brother James Lemken; her sons, Darren Rheuport, Jason Rheuport, and Derrick Rheuport; her daughters, Tamera Rheuport and Stephanie Rheuport; and many grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Beverly will be deeply missed by her family and all whose lives she touched.
