Our hearts are deeply saddened as we gather to say goodbye to an extraordinary wife, mother, Mimi, and cherished friend whose love touched every life around her. Though farewells are among life’s most difficult moments, they also remind us of the immeasurable gift of having shared the journey. We leave behind the comfort of familiar smiles, the warmth of treasured conversations, and the countless memories woven together through years of love, laughter, and devotion. While this goodbye closes a beautiful chapter, the story of a life so richly lived will continue to echo in our hearts, inspiring us with every memory and every moment we were fortunate enough to share.
Kathy Almeda Pitts, 73 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri was welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 22, 2026.
Kathy was born November 24, 1952, in Campo Colorado, daughter of Clarence and Marjorie Oldham.
She is survived by her daughters: Jill Hanley-Hunt (Steve Hunt), Lenexa KS, Julie Shultz (Jim Shultz) Lee’s Summit MO: grandchildren Carson J. Hanley, Avery Andrade, Brian Hunt (Hallee Hunt), Abby Hunt, Ethan Hunt, and Sara Pernice (Mike Pernice).
She was proceeded in death by her parents, sister, Carolyn Meyer, and husband, Randy Pitts.
Kathy graduated from Grant County High School 1971. Attended Emporia State University.
Kathy’s spirit and determination shaped a remarkable and diverse career. From helping families find their perfect homes as a realtor, to owning and operating a gift shop, to serving in a variety of roles in banking.
Kathy found her greatest happiness in the people she loved. Whether gathered around a family table, sharing laughter with dear friends, or cheering from the sidelines of life’s special moments, she brought warmth, creativity, and joy wherever she went. A gifted artist at heart, she expressed her talents through everything from oil paintings and handcrafted wreaths to beautiful interior design. Yet above all her accomplishments, Kathy’s deepest pride and greatest delight came from watching her grandchildren grow, dream, and pursue the passions that made them shine.
Cremation is planned with a graveside Memorial Service taking place on August 3, 2026, 11:30 am at the Grant County Cemetery.
