John Micheal Warren was born in Kansas City, Missouri, the youngest of four children. In his young years, he delivered the Kansas City Star on his bicycle to homes all over the Westport area. As a teen he was a founding member of the ‘"Tuesday Night Social Club", a club for John and his best buddies. They loved cars, girls, finding ways to have fun and parties. After graduating De la Salle High School, he went on a college tour of the midwest, where he eventually received a business degree from Washburn University in Topeka.
From Washburn, he went on to ask Judy Kenny to marry him beneath the Campanile at KU. They were married in 1969, They began a family in 1972, with Danny followed closely by Jeff in 1973. The youngest Patrick a few years later in 1978.
He built a successful business and had many friends centered around the plumbing supply business. He loved to bring his family and friends to his lake house at the Ozarks where he taught countless kids and adults how to ski, tube and simply have fun.
He was always willing to help and teach. A number of young men learned the ropes of business and construction from him and he loved sharing that.
He was a proud Army Veteran. John was stationed at Fort Kit Carson in Colorado Springs. While there, he learned to ski and adventure around the mountains. He spent many vacations managing and teaching his children and friends to ski and have fun. We know our Dad is sharing Coronas with his friends, family and loves seeing our Mom and all our other family members in heaven.
As we are left to mourn his passing, we know he would say “You’ll figure it out!’.
He was our good buddy, Dad and the one who helped instill a spirit of adventure and curiosity in all of us!
John is preceded in death by by wife Judy Warren, son Danny, grandson Stacey and three siblings. He is survived by sons Jeff Warren (Shelly) and Pat Warren (Crystal), daughter-in-law Kari Warren; four grandchildren John, Matthew, Annie and Rainier.
Visitation will be held at Curé of Ars, Saturday, August 1 from 9:30-10:30 am, rosary at 10:30 with Mass following at 11 am. Committal service will be held 12:30 pm at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.
In lieu of sending flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carl's Cause for mental health awareness or to the development fund at Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas.
