Friedrich Peter Lindig 86, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away battling pancreatic cancer with his family by his side on August 4th, 2026.
Peter was born on November 9th, 1939, in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany, to Ella and Friedrich Lindig. He immigrated to Canada in 1960. There, he met his life partner Rita whom he married in 1961. They welcomed their first son Ronald in 1962, and the family immigrated to the United States in 1963. They moved to Kansas, had their second son: Norbert in 1964, and started 2 family machine shops: LK Tool and Die in 1966 and Continental Tool in 1980. Peter was known for his integrity, humor, work-ethic, heart, generosity, and strong will. Peter loved golfing, cruises, watching soccer, F1, and football, spending time with his family especially his favorite (only) grandchild Rylie, and enjoying a good German beer. He was looking forward to becoming a great-grandpa this fall.
Peter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita; sons Ronald (Tina) Lindig and Norbert (Jyl) Lindig; grandchild Rylie (Brett) Andersen. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ella & Friedrich Lindig and brother: Karl Lindig.
