In Loving Memory
May 27, 1968 – August 11, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dyan (McCreight) Sharp, who left this world on August 11, 2026, at the age of 58. Dyan was the kind of person who could light up any room she entered. Her radiant smile, contagious laugh, and vibrant personality made everyone around her feel welcome, loved, and valued. She lived life with joy, generosity, and an unmistakable sense of style.
Above all else, Dyan was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her three daughters—Nicole, Taylor, and Alex—were the greatest joy of her life, and she never stopped cheering them on through every stage of life. Becoming "Grandma" brought her even greater happiness. She adored her grandsons, Brandon, Max, and Connor, and rarely missed an opportunity to watch them play sports. Sitting in the stands, proudly cheering them on, was one of her favorite places to be.
Dyan had an incredible work ethic and truly loved what she did. She was especially proud of earning her MBA from Baker University, an accomplishment that reflected her determination, intelligence, and drive. She found a second family during her career at HCA, where she genuinely loved coming to work each day. Her coworkers—her beloved "work guys"—brought her so much joy, and the friendships she built there meant the world to her. She spoke of them often, laughed with them endlessly, and treasured the time they spent together. HCA wasn't just where she worked—it was a place where she felt valued, connected, and at home.
She also embraced life's simple joys. Whether she was shopping, always looking effortlessly put together, listening to Phil Collins or Genesis, or passionately cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals, Dyan found reasons to celebrate life and the people she loved.
She shared a beautiful life and friendship with her late husband, James Sharp, who was not only her spouse but truly her best friend. Their love remains an enduring part of her story.
Dyan is survived by her loving mother, Charlene McCreight; her brother, John McCreight, and sister-in-law, Karen McCreight; her nephews, Jackson and Reed; her daughters, Nicole (Derek) and their sons, Max and Connor; Taylor and her son, Brandon; and Alex. She also leaves behind countless extended family members, dear friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Dyan's love, laughter, strength, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on through her family and in the countless memories she created with those she loved.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave., Overland Park, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church or Children's Mercy .
