Curtis Lee Card, age 62, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away on August 20, 2026, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Curtis was born on July 30, 1964, in Pittsburg, Kansas. On February 17, 1996, he married Sandra Riecke, and together they shared a loving life and welcomed their son, Cody Card.
Curtis worked for many years in line clearance for KCP&L before later owning and operating his own tree trimming service. His love of the outdoors was evident in the things he enjoyed most, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also a devoted fan of his favorite Kansas City sports teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.
Curtis had a wonderful sense of humor and knew how to make people laugh. His laughter, personality, and the memories he created with family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Sandy; his son, Cody; his brothers, Robert Card and Montee Scott Card; along with countless extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Peggy Kabearle; his grandparents, Charles and Lennie Card and Percy and Laura Montee.
No formal services will take place at this time.
Curtis will be remembered with love and greatly missed by his family and friends.
