Marten Kelly Hester was born to Eldon Hester and Elaine Baldwin- Hester. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 17, 1963. He grew up in Lawrence, Kansas. He passed on August 17, 2026, at KU Medical in Kansas City, Kansas.

He is survived in death by his 3 daughters Ashley Carnagie, Megan Hester and Lindsey Hester, 2 granddaughters and his brother's and sister Kevin Hester, Janene Rist and Brian Hester. And many nieces and nephews.

Marten loved to read, he loved music old school music. He watched KU football and the Chiefs! He was an Army cook he was a staff sergeant and a sharpshooter he got to travel now he enjoyed being home and around family. They family is having a private gathering at at later date. Marten wanted to be cremated.
