She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1975 and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa with a minor in Spanish in 1979.

She married Bob Stevenson in 1996 and they enjoyed many happy years together before his death in 2023.
Cindy worked for the Waterloo School System teaching elementary and middle school for 33 years and was beloved by many former students and colleagues for her sense of humor. She also served as a union representative throughout her career.
Cindy loved landscaping and beautifying her homes with her husband Bob. They frequently welcomed all sorts of friends and family at their cabin during the summer and on the weekends. She did some modeling in her youth and was a glamorous woman who loved fashion and shopping. In recent years, she enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and watching Indiana Fever basketball games.
Her one-liners and humor will never be forgotten, and she never met a Chardonnay she didn’t like!
