James “Jim” Edmund Morrow, 87, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. He is now reunited with his deeply loved twin brother, Robert “Jon” Morrow.

Jim was born in Atchison, Kansas, to Robert G. Morrow and Ruth C. Morrow.

He proudly served in the United States Army, where he worked on helicopters. While stationed in Germany, Jim and his twin brother, Jon, spent their free time touring the country’s castles. The two were inseparable.

Flying was one of Jim’s lifelong passions. For many years, he and Jon flew a yellow Piper Cub affectionately nicknamed the “Yellow Peril.” Neighbors could often look up and see the twins cruising the skies together—a familiar sight and a cherished memory for those who knew them.

Jim also enjoyed target shooting and had a special fascination with trains. A gifted builder and mechanic, he even built and operated his own steam locomotive—one of many examples of his remarkable talent and ingenuity.

Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, and there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t fix. His kindness, resourcefulness, and devotion to those he loved will be deeply missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Morrow; his brother, Donald Morrow; and his beloved twin brother, Jon Morrow.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (née Henry) Morrow; his daughters, KC (Tony) Simcic, Susan Morrow, and Jami Morrow; his grandchildren, Julia, Aaron, Briann, and Connor; his sister, Ruth (née Morrow) Thornton; his sister-in-law, Eula Morrow; and a large extended family spread across the country.

Although his family will miss him beyond measure, they find comfort in knowing that Jim and Jon are together once again.
