Richard “Dick” Dudley Fey

August  26, 1938-September10, 2026
Richard “Dick” Dudley Fey, 88, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Dick was born on August 26, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas, to Dudley and Hazel Fey. He graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas, in 1956.
Dick spent much of his life working hard and building a life for his family. His career began working in the grocery store his parents owned in Wichita, Kansas. He later worked at a paint store and with GAF. He was also a proud member of the Kansas National Guard.
Dick eventually found his way into the flooring business, working in flooring sales before starting his own business, Carpet Broker Inc., in 1987. His son Brian joined him in the business in 1989, and the two worked side by side.
Dick was a man who truly knew how to enjoy life. He loved his dogs, cruising, wine, and fine dining. He was always ready to tell a joke or share a funny story, and he enjoyed hearing them just as much. Never afraid to be the life of the party, Dick loved music, laughter, and having a good time. His humor and personality brought so much joy to his family and friends, creating countless memories that will be cherished for years to come.
In 1995, Dick married the love of his life, Connie Church Fey. Together they shared 31 wonderful years traveling, enjoying family gatherings, and adoring their cocker spaniels.
Dick was a devoted father and family man. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Hazel Fey; his previous wife, Peggy Ann Butterfield-Fey; and his daughter-in-law, Alicia Wolford.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie; his children, Stacy Kuhl and her husband, Buddy; Brian Fey and his wife, Jennifer; and Russell Wolford; his brother, Don Fey and his wife, Mary; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.
Dick leaves behind a life filled with hard work, family, friendship, laughter, and plenty of good stories. Those who knew him will remember his unmistakable sense of humor, his love of a good time, and the joy he brought into a room. While he will be deeply missed, the joy and love he gave us will remain in our hearts forever.
At Dick’s request, a party celebrating his life will be held on Monday, September 28, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Touché’s Lounge, 6820 W. 105th St., Overland Park, KS 66212.
