Chad M. Giddings of Kearney, MO (born September 1, 1961 in Fulton, KY, to Leslie Wallace Giddings and Ava Juanita [Morgan] Giddings) passed away October 13, 2026 from complications of esophageal cancer.
He was the proudest father of his three children Hope, Finn and Zane, and he loved them deeply and completely. Chad lived and loved well, remembered the importance of connection and mentorship, and perfected the art of the selfie across many photographic formats. He spent his career in marketing and advertising, as a client, strategic partner and provider. Chad was data driven and thoughtful in his approach which served him well in his professional life, and he embraced returning to J.Schmid (Prairie Village, KS) in the final chapter of his career. He was an Eagle Scout as are both his boys plus a host of young men he mentored through Troop 376 of Liberty, MO. He was also a life-long Chiefs fan, a die-hard music devotee and maker of many a music compilation (both on tape and CD), a spiritual searcher, a rambling storyteller, an aficionado of the infinity bourbon bottle, and a man who loved his dogs. Like many, he wished for more time, more travels, more stories, and more chances to give you a heartfelt hug, yet he was content with the life he had lived over his 65 years.
He leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Donna (Diemer) Giddings, and his children Hope W. Giddings (28), Finn D. Giddings (26) and Zane P. Giddings (23) and his last pound pups, Luna and Rosie. He is also survived by brother L. Charles (Kim G.) Giddings and his family as well as sister Lori S. (Donald E.) Byttner and her family. If Chad had any last words, he’d remind you that the next time you are asked “What can I get you?”, your reply should always give you the opportunity to answer “World Peace”.
